TivoliVredenburg Privacy and Cookie Statement

Our visitors’ privacy is important to us, so we would like to tell you straight away that tickets can be purchased from the box office in the main hall without needing to supply any personal details. Our staff are also happy to provide you with information and recommendations on our programming.

If we make use of your personal data in our further communications with you, we will treat these data confidentially and in accordance with the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). This privacy statement explains the types of data we collect and for what purpose, how long we retain them and what your rights are.

What kind of data do you process?

We process your data in order to provide our services: when you purchase a ticket, visit an event, receive a special newsletter or subscription brochure, visit our website or use a contact form, or if you are a sponsor or are involved in our education and participation activities. In many cases, when you purchase a ticket for one of our events via an external sales channel (such as Ticketmaster), we also receive your personal details to enable us to provide our service.

We retain your contact and bank account details, along with payment and invoice details and any data you enter online. This may include your name, address, telephone number, email address, date of birth and payment and account details on our website. To see a full overview of the personal data we have collected from you, simply submit an access request (see: What are my rights?).

What happens to my data?

We only process data that are necessary in order to:

  • conclude an agreement (e.g. ticket sales for an event) and to perform the agreement (e.g. service emails concerning an event);
  • provide information on our range of services and to tailor the information as effectively as possible to your personal interests and preferences, e.g. via newsletters or social media;
  • enable you to use our website and to analyse website visits for marketing purposes. For more information, see our cookies policy below;
  • conduct market research in order to develop products and services and for other operational purposes;
  • ensure the safety of you, your belongings and our building;
  • comply with relevant laws and legislation, such as possible COVID 19 source and contact research of the Municipal Health Services.

How do I unsubscribe from your mailing list?

We only wish to inform you of our services if you are interested in hearing about them. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link at the bottom of our emails, or by sending an email to [email protected].

Do I have a customer profile?

We can combine various types of information to construct a customer profile, such as information on ticket sales and the newsletters, service emails and brochures you have received. Our aim is to improve our understanding of our target groups, in order to provide a more customised service. If you object to this, there are various options open to you (see: What are my rights?).

How long do you retain data?

We only store your personal data for as long as required by the services we provide. We will delete your personal data if you remain inactive for a period of seven years following your last ticket purchase, newsletter/brochure received or any other account activity. In other words, your account will expire and we will delete your data if you remain inactive for seven years. Before deleting your account for good, we will send a notification asking whether you want us to continue to store your data (e.g. to keep you informed of our programming).

After this retention period, your personal data will be deleted from our systems. The data will be anonymised for any subsequent processing (e.g. for analysis, market research or other operational purposes).

Vide recordings from our security cameras will be stored for a maximum of four weeks. In case of an incident, we may retain recordings for a longer period of time. In that case, we will erase the recordings after the incident is handled.

Are my data shared with third parties?

We may share your information with our external service providers to allow them to provide services to us (such as ticket sales or sending newsletters). In such cases, we conclude agreements to ensure optimum security and confidentiality.

In some cases, we may provide your name, address, postal code, town/city, telephone number, email address, performance date and/or the number of tickets sold to the co-organiser of a specific event for which you have purchased tickets. We have an agreement with the following partners: Amsterdam Sinfonietta, AVROTROS, BNNVARA, Fiesta Macumba, Grote Prijs van Nederland and Nationale Koren. The co-organiser may contact you in order to (i) provide you with updates regarding the event or inform you of special offers, or to (ii) perform data analyses and customer satisfaction surveys. In such cases, we conclude agreements with the relevant partners to ensure optimum security and confidentiality. If you object to any of the above, there are various options available (see: What are my rights?).

How are my personal data kept secure?

We have taken appropriate organisational and technical steps to guard against misuse, loss, unauthorised access and undesired disclosure. These include anti-virus programmes, anti-malware and other system-protection software, regular data backups and software updates, as well as secure, SSL-certified HTTPS online environments.
