Your visit to TivoliVredenburg

  • Is there an age limit?

    Concerts at TivoliVredenburg are not suitable for babies or children aged 8 or under, with the exception of family shows. An age category will be specified in these cases.

    For children older than 8, but younger than 18, a recommended minimum age limit of 14 applies for unaccompanied attendance (unless otherwise specified on the event page). A minimum age of 8 is advised for classical concerts (including the free lunchtime concerts).

    No alcoholic drinks will be served to persons younger than 18, and no access will be granted after 11:00 p.m. (unless otherwise specified on the event page).

  • Does TivoliVredenburg have accessibility facilities?

    Yes, TivoliVredenburg is fully accessible to visitors with mobility requirements. The building is very large, however, so it can be useful to ask one of our staff to accompany you to the right location. To get to the right floor, elevator passes are available from the box office in the central lobby or from any of the ‘Kan Ik Je Helpen?’ (‘Can I Help You?’) staff members.

  • Can I store my belongings in a cloakroom or locker?

    Of course! Each venue has its own cloakroom, which opens at the same time as the doors to the venue. The lockers are also located beyond the ticket inspection point. Coats and bags can be stored for free in the cloakroom, as the ticket price includes the cloakroom fee. Several exceptions apply, such as the weekly Pop-O-Matic dance night, free concerts (such as the lunchtime concerts) and private venue hire. Lockers cost €2 and can accommodate several items.

  • What time does the concert start and finish?

    Concert starting times are stated on your ticket. For the most up-to-date information on starting times, we recommend checking the website on the day of the event. For some events, we also send an email containing extra information during the week of the concert, which includes times. We cannot guarantee that events will start at precisely the time indicated; it may depend partly on the procedures and, sometimes, the artist. The same applies to end times.

    When setting end times, we try to take public transport into consideration as much as possible. Evening concerts generally finish between 10:30 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. (at the latest). Note: exceptions do occur. For our club nights, the end time is generally given on the event page.

    Pre-concert introductions are sometimes given before classical concerts. The start times of both the introductions and the concert will be listed on your tickets and the website.

  • Can I pay for food & drinks using contactless card or cash?

    All of our bars accept both contactless/debit card payment and cash. Unfortunately, credit card payment is not available. We do not work with a token system.

    If you think you might want to buy some merchandise at a concert, bring cash with you to be on the safe side. Debit card payments are often not possible at the merchandise stand, and cash withdrawals are not always possible at our venues.

    Grand café Het Gegeven Paard only accepts debit cards (no cash).

  • Am I allowed to take photos or videos of the concert?

    No professional photographic, video or audio equipment may be brought to performances without express permission. Consumer cameras are allowed, however. ‘Professional photographic and video equipment’ includes any device with interchangeable lenses, and SLRs. Some artists prefer no photos to be taken at all, in which case the audience will be notified on the night itself.

  • I lost some property at TivoliVredenburg; have you found it?

    Our reception desk manages all lost property using iLost & Found. Visit the page and search for your item. It is possible that we may not have added your item yet. Our reception desk can be contacted by telephone on +31 (0)30 - 7606777.

  • Are there seats in the venue?

    Seating can vary for each concert and venue. The Hertz hall has fixed seating, and so does the Grote Zaal. Ronda and Pandora usually only have standing room. If you are unable to stand for the length of the concert, please contact the box office on +31 (0)30 - 2314544 (10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Mon – Sat) or via [email protected].nl.

  • Where is the box office?

    Our box office is located in the central lobby on the ground floor (beneath the wooden staircase opposite the photo exhibition). This is where you can purchase tickets, view the guest list or obtain more information on TivoliVredenburg and season programming. Tickets are scanned when entering the relevant venue.

    Our box office is open from 10:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m., Monday – Saturday, and whenever there are shows on.

  • Can I charge my phone in TivoliVredenburg?

    Yes! Next to the toilets in our central lobby. We have six charge stations with three different connections for all types of phones. You can safely charge your phone here for €1,50 (via pin).

  • Does TivoliVredenburg have Wi-Fi I can use?

    Yes! An open Wi-Fi network is available throughout TivoliVredenburg, which offers an excellent Internet connection in all venues, other spaces and our café.

  • Do I need hearing protection?

    Some of our concerts are loud. We therefore advise always bringing hearing protection with you. We want our visitors to enjoy good music now, but we also want them to be able to do so in twenty years’ time.

    All of our cloakrooms and bars offer free earplugs. Thunder Plugs can also be purchased for €3 from the vending machines beside the cloakrooms.

  • Can I spend the night nearby?

    Don’t feel like going home after dancing or listening to a concert? Want to experience all the fun Utrecht has to offer? Utrecht has a wide variety of hotels and hostels to suit a range of budgets. Try Grand Hotel Karel V or the Apollo Hotel, both of which are located quite close to TivoliVredenburg and Utrecht Central station. For those on a smaller budget, we recommend Hostel Strowis or StayOkay at Neude square.

  • Can I take a look around the building?

    Of course! Even without a ticket, you are always welcome in our central lobby during the opening hours of grand café Het Gegeven Paard or if an event is taking place in the rest of the building. Friday and Saturday evenings are also when Park 6 is open, an indoor park and meeting spot in our indoor courtyard, on the fifth and sixth floors, with a magnificent view of Utrecht.

    The venue spaces themselves are only open during performance times, but you can take a look inside them using Google Maps. There are also regular guided tours through the building; view our calendar for current times.

  • Where can I smoke in TivoliVredenburg?

    Smoking is only permitted in the designated areas. There are several smoking areas, and every venue has access to at least one of them. Furthermore, cigarettes can be purchased from various locations in TivoliVredenburg.

  • I want to propose a band / DJ / concept

    We are always open to suggestions! The best thing to do is to send an email to [email protected]. If we are interested, we will get in touch with you!

  • Can I hire one of your venues?

    Of course you can! Everything is possible, from large-scale corporate functions, conferences and seminars to intimate drinks, stylish dinners, explosive launch parties or reflective gatherings. No idea is too crazy for us. For more information, please visit tivolivredenburgzakelijk.nl.

  • Where is the concert taking place?

    Most of our events take place in one of the venues at TivoliVredenburg, in the heart of Utrecht and at walking distance from Utrecht Central station. We also organise events at other venues, such as De Helling, St James’ church (Jacobikerk), Molen de Ster and Slottuin Zeist. Venues are always listed on the events page.

  • Where can I grab something to eat or drink before or after the concert?

    Feel like a bite or a drink before or after a concert, or just out on the town? Try our grand café Het Gegeven Paard or French restaurant Danel.

    French restaurant Danel is located in TivoliVredenburg at the water’s edge, at the corner of the building (where Vredenburgkade meets Hollanse Toren). Come and enjoy all the taste sensations of modern French cuisine!

    Grand café Het Gegeven Paard can be found in TivoliVredenburg and the alfresco area by the water. This café in the heart of Utrecht is open seven days a week to concertgoers, or to anyone else who wants to enjoy delicious food and drink in a pleasant atmosphere.

  • What happens to my data?

    Our visitors’ privacy is important to us. Our privacy statement explains the types of data we collect and for what purpose, how long we retain these data and what your rights are.

  • Do you have facilities for the hearing impaired?

    Visitors to Grote Zaal and Hertz halls can make use of a Phonak hip hanger, which connects and communicates with hearing aids. Simply talk to one of the cloakroom staff upon your arrival. To use the Phonak system, your own hearing aid must be set to T or MT. Not all hearing aids work with the Phonak system. If yours is not compatible, both headsets and receivers are available from the cloakroom.

Tickets to TivoliVredenburg

  • Where can I buy tickets?

    Tickets are available from our website and from the box office. Our box office is open from 10:00 a.m. – 09:00 p.m., Monday – Saturday, and whenever there are shows on. Tickets to many of our concerts are also available via Ticketmaster.nl.

  • What service fees do I pay?

    Our service fees are designed to cover our (often hidden) overheads, such as use of the system software, online and offline sales channels, customer service and administration. As an extra service, free earplugs are available from the cloakrooms and bars and the ticket price covers use of our secure cloakrooms. We hope this provides a faster and improved service. Service fees are always included in the ticket price.

    Service fees as at 1 January 2018:

    €2 for concerts with a wallet-free interval (pre-paid drink)
    €2.50 for tickets up to €15
    €3.25 for tickets from €15 to €27
    €4 for tickets over €27

  • Can I reserve or order tickets by telephone?

    Unfortunately, tickets cannot be reserved or purchased over the phone.

  • How do I order a wheelchair seat?

    Wheelchair seats are available in our webshop. If you have any questions or need any help, please contact our box office by telephone on +31 (0)30 - 2314544 (10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m., Monday – Saturday). We are happy to assist you in any way we can!

  • Can I choose my own seat?

    Yes, for concerts with reserved seating. You can choose where you want to sit when ordering a ticket online by indicating available seats on a seating chart. If you are not given this option when purchasing tickets, that means there is no reserved seating and you can sit where you like when entering the venue.

  • Can my ticket be scanned from my telephone?

    Yes, your e-ticket can be scanned from your telephone screen. This method offers several advantages: you always have your tickets with you, and it is environmentally friendly because it saves ink and paper!

  • Why are tickets on other websites sometimes more expensive than on yours?

    Unfortunately, there are websites that purchase and sell our tickets at a profit. There are dozens of these unofficial pre-sale businesses that buy tickets in bulk and sell them on at a higher price. These tickets are not only more expensive, but sometimes are not even valid.

    We therefore advise you only to buy tickets via www.tivolivredenburg.nl, which will only ever direct you to official sales channels. Never just click on the first link that appears in Google – always visit the website run by the artist, organiser or venue where the event is being held.

  • How many tickets can I buy?

    The usual limit is 6 tickets for pop concerts, and 10 for dance nights. There is no upper limit when purchasing tickets to classical concerts.

    There are some exceptions, however, and we always keep the artists’ and organiser’s wishes in mind.

  • I cannot order online or I get an error message; what should I do?

    Please call our box office for assistance on: +31 (0)30 - 2314544 (10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m., Monday – Saturday) or mail [email protected]. We are happy to assist you in any way we can! Also, feel free to come see us in person.

  • I lost my ticket or it didn’t arrive; what do I do now?

    Your e-ticket can be re-downloaded by logging into our ticket sales system.

    If you purchased tickets before 26 August 2018 (using our old ticketing system) and can no longer find them, please contact our box office (on +31 (0)30 - 2314544 or [email protected]) and we will send you your tickets again. We can be reached via +31 (0)30 - 2314544 (10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m., Monday – Saturday) and via [email protected].

    If you bought your ticket from Ticketmaster, please log into your Ticketmaster account to have your tickets re-sent.

  • Can I get tickets for shows that are sold out?

    Unfortunately not. When events are sold out, it means that no more tickets are available at all. You can safely assume that no more tickets will become available, and we do not keep reservation lists.

    There are websites that purchase and sell tickets for sold-out shows at a profit. Dozens of these unofficial pre-sale businesses buy tickets in bulk and sell them on at a higher price. These tickets are not only more expensive, but are often also invalid.

    Tickets are regularly offered on social media as well, such as via Facebook concert events (including those that are sold out). Caution is advised! Never just transfer money without carefully checking the seller’s account first.

  • My event date has changed; what now?

    Whenever dates change, tickets remain valid for that event on the new date. If you cannot attend on the new date, please send an email to [email protected]. If you bought the ticket from our box office, simply bring it back and you will receive a full refund (including service fees). Unfortunately, credit card fees cannot be reimbursed.

    Tickets sold via Ticketmaster can be returned to the same sales point where they were bought. Ticketmaster will refund the ticket price minus any service fees.

  • My event has been cancelled; what now?

    If you purchased an e-ticket and the event is cancelled, you will automatically receive a refund in your bank account within 30 days. If you bought your ticket from our box office, simply bring it back to receive a full refund (including service fees).

    Tickets sold via Ticketmaster can be returned to the same sales point where they were bought. Ticketmaster will refund the ticket price minus any service fees.

  • I can no longer attend the concert. Can I get a refund?

    Unfortunately not. We cannot refund tickets, but you can try to sell your ticket on Ticketswap to others who may be interested.

  • How do I know whether my tickets are non-transferable?

    We generally do not check the names on the tickets. However, exceptions can be made at the request of the artist or organisation. If this is the case, the events page will clearly say so and it will not be possible to give your ticket to anybody else.

  • Do you offer discounts for young people?

    If you are under 30, you will be eligible for a discount on nearly all classical concerts and most of our jazz concerts. Last-minute ‘sprint’ tickets are available for €12, and can be purchased from 10:00 a.m. on the day of the concert either online or from the box office, provided the concert is not sold out. View availability here. Sprint tickets for morning or matinee performances are available 24 hours in advance.
