Dabke Night

Traditional Arab music & modern electronic beats

Geweest

Vanaf 23:00 wordt Dabke Night 18+, daarvoor zijn alle leeftijden welkom.

Dabke Night is back in TivoliVredenburg, Utrecht on Saturday 13 April! We don't care where you're from, just come through to celebrate Syrian / Middle-Eastern music and culture! ☽

Sarsaria
Strictly the best live music from Aleppo and beyond by the band Sarsaria, with well known singer Wasim Arslan. They make a fusion between the typical Syrian traditional music with Western influences and are also ready to make you dance Dabke. Frontman Wasim Arslan is a promising talented Syrian singer, grew up in ancient Aleppo with a voice of a nightingale.

Nawras Altaky & Modar Salama
Nawras Al Taky is a remarkable Syrian vocalist and oud player based in Utrecht. He plays classical, traditional and pop Arab and eastern music. You might have seen him for instance on the Parade, or in concert with Janna Schra or Carol Emerald.

Modar Salama is a Syrian drummer and percussionist, born in Damascus and based in Amsterdam. He studied classical and Oriental percussion at the Higher Institute of Music in Damascus. When these two musicians play together, you just might get a true feeling of the Orient.

DJ Matrub
Dance the night away with the best DJ we know: Matrub مطروب. Show off your Dabke skills on the floor or get to know the basics with a beginners workshop- just lean in to that dance called Dabke! One thing is for sure: you will never dance alone, as long as you open your heart and hands.

Syrian pop-up restaurant
Of course we will also bring you the best Syrian food ever, served by the lovely people of Aleppo kitchen.nl.

Some surprises coming up, stay tuned ♥
